Djembe Drum Tightening & Lacing : Djembe Drum Tightening: Lacing

So, now you want to take a good look at the
head of your drum. If you have a high spot, be careful here, because this is just the
fur sticking out, but it's really a wild furry drum here, but the actual ring. If the ring
is high in some spot, you might want to try to see if you can get it. You might want to
start, say if it's high here, we'll pretend, then we might want to start tightening from
here, but make sure you're going in the direction, away from that ring, towards the excess rope
that's hanging off,so you always want to go that same direction that you worked, when
you originally put the head on, so if you always start here, usually we start here and
work. Start where the knot is, but we might want to start halfway around, and work this
way, or else in a high spot, so we'll start doing that now. Start going back and doing
the vertical lacing.
