How To Play West African Drums : Playing Sounds on Djembe African Drums

MAN: We also have some other types of sounds
that you can make on the djembe. These are not traditional but because the djembe is
such a versatile instrument now, some people, when they play with jazz musicians or rock
bands, they can make different types of sounds or just to be fancy. One of them is a muffled
slap, almost like a conga slap. Traditionally, you don't play the djembe like that, we play
like this. But you can cut it off. Also, you can muffle with your other hand for even more
of a high pitch or the bass or your fingers or here..
